Sad news from provincial police in that one person is dead as a result of a two vehicle collision on Highway 11/17.
They confirm the person driving a car that collided with a transport truck has passed away.
The TransCanada was closed late Sunday afternoon, the Ontario 511 website showing it happened just east of Pearl, by the Flying J truck stop, east of Thunder Bay.
Shuniah Fire and Emergency Services tweeted the road was reopened a few hours later.
