Health Unit Adds 12 New Cases

The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting 12 new COVID-19 cases in the region.

Six are in the Dryden/Red Lake area, four in the Kenora region and two in the Sioux Lookout area.

This comes as a student at the Golden Learning Centre in Red Lake tested positive for the virus. A classroom was closed Wednesday.

There are currently 48 active cases.

In the Thunder Bay District, a new daily record with 61 cases.

Another person has also died from the virus bringing the death toll up to 32.

There are 397 active cases with 33 people in hospital for COVID-19, with twelve in the ICU.

In the province, there are 994 new cases and ten more related deaths.
