A total of 40 new cases of COVID-19 in the region today.
Most are in the Kenora area with 38 positive reports.
There was also one in Dryden/Red Lake and one in the Sioux Lookout area.
The 38 cases are by far a one day record in the Kenora area.
The Wabaseemoong First Nation sent out a release last night saying “As many people are aware, the COVID-19 pandemic is spreading within the Kenora Region, and it is having impact on our community.
We are continuing to do everything we can, and have ensured we have multiple safety protocols and measures in place to combat this.
We as a community are strong, and we know we are going to get through this, and work together.
We have multiple plans being executed as of right now, that will help to keep our membership safe and healthy.”.
The Health Unit says follow up with the persons involved and their contacts has started according to protocol.
