FIREFLY Joins Conversation On Bell Let’s Talk Day

FIREFLY in Kenora-Rainy River is encouraging everyone to join in on the conversation of mental health as part of Bell Let’s Talk Day.

Clinical Manager Ashley Apland says the goal is to increase awareness and acceptance of mental health.

She offers the following advice to anyone who is having difficulty right now.

“It’s ok to not be ok and things will get better and please ask for help. There’s a lot of resources in our area and if you are unsure where to look you can check out Connex Ontario for a list of resources in Ontario,” says Apland.

Visit www.connexontario.ca for more information.

Apland says Bell Let’s Talk Day also gives them a chance to offer advice to those who may not know what to do if they see someone struggling.

“Provide support to them. Help them get connected to service. Talk with them and let them know you care,” says Apland.

Bell will be supporting mental health initiatives in Canada with every text, call, tweet or social media post using #BellLetsTalk made on Thursday.
