Case Of Covid Impacting Fort Frances High

The first known case of a student in the Rainy River district contracting COVID-19 while school is in session.

The Rainy River District School Board reports the person is a student at Fort Frances High School.

It’s focusing on those who were within two metres of the person for longer than 15 minutes.

The Health Unit does not consider individuals passing in the hallway as close contacts, saying the risk to them is minimal.

There was a case involving a teacher at Rainy River High School last month. The school board and the Northwestern Health Unit reported there was no impact on others at the school at the time.
