TBDHU Adds 5 COVID-19 Cases

The COVID-19 outbreaks at Thunder Bay’s Jail and Correctional Centre are still growing.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit says there are five new cases as of Sunday morning, most of which are at either the District Jail or Correctional Centre.

The district now has 158 active cases.

Meanwhile, the province is reporting 2,417 cases and 50 more deaths from the novel coronavirus.

There are two hotspots for COVID-19 in the Northwestern Health Unit catchment area.

Three new positive test results are being reported in the District of Rainy River and one new case in the Kenora area.

That brings the total number of confirmed cases in those two areas to 11 in the past three days.
