COVID Case Involving Area Teacher

A high school teacher in Rainy River has tested positive for COVID-19.

The high school is still open.

The Northwestern Health Unit is looking into the case with the Rainy River District School Board.

The Board says there is no indication there was any exposure to students or other staff in the school, and no classroom closures are necessary.

A listener tells 93.1 The Border that two other teachers are awaiting test results.

The Health Unit is doing contact tracing and notifying anyone who may have been in close contact.

The School Board has posted an advisory on its Facebook page.
