New Cases Announced By NWHU

The Northwestern Health Unit has announced eight new cases of COVID-19 between the Kenora and Rainy River regions.

Two of the new cases are in the Kenora area, while six are in the Rainy River District.

The exact locations are not provided for privacy reasons.

That brings the total number of active cases in the Health Unit’s catchment area to 39, with 18 in the Rainy River District.

The other 21 are in the Kenora region.

As always, the NWHU says it will not share any specific information about the cases, and that follow-up with close contacts is already underway.

Thursday’s announcement follows a record-high 14 new cases announced by the regional health authority on Wednesday.

Meantime, there were seven new cases of COVID-19 reported yesterday in Koochiching County.

There are now 30 active cases in the County.

In nearby Lake of the Woods County, there are ten active cases.
