Four people are dead after pro-Trump supporters stormed the US capitol protesting the American election.
Media reports indicate investigations will take place to find those responsible.
Vice President Mike Pence, after a night of debate hearing objections to the election, confirmed the votes of the electoral college, certifying Joe Biden’s win just before 3 a.m. Central time.
It was not a completely smooth morning though, as a Republican and Democrat almost got into a fistfight a couple of hours earlier.
All is quiet on the grounds of the US Capitol this morning, as police continue to monitor the area.
President Trump has stated he will support a peaceful transition of power. However, there is talk of possibly using the 25th Amendment, which would remove a sitting President, if that person is deemed unfit for the job, and the Vice President takes over, briefly.
VP Mike Pence would have to approve.
