COVID Death Reported By Health Unit

A person living in the Kenora-Rainy River district has died as a result of COVID-19.

The Northwestern Health Unit says it was an elderly person who had other health conditions.

She is the first recorded death related to the virus in the Health Unit’s catchment area.

No other details about where the person lived are being released out of respect for the family.

The Health Unit was following eight active cases, including six in the Rainy River district.
