Crime Stats Remaining Below 2019

OPP continue to see this year fewer incidents of crime in the Fort Frances area.

The latest statistics to the end of October show property crime, which includes minor thefts, fraud and mischief, down 37 per cent over last year.

Incidents of violent crime, such as assaults, are close to last year’s number but still down 3 per cent over the same period in 2019.

There have been more drug cases this year, 19 compared to 10 by October 2019.

October was a tough month for motorists in the Fort Frances area.

There were 34 collision, more than double that in October 2019.

That’s brought up the total number to date to 169, seven more than last year at this time.
