College Recommends Not Returning If Traveling This Weekend

Rainy River Community College in International Falls has some suggestions for students thinking of travelling during the US Thanksgiving weekend.

The College recommends that if students do travel home, they should not return and finish their classes virtually.

If they do return, the College is asking them to self-quarantine for at least ten days, limit their social interactions and only travel for necessities.

“If individuals decide to socialize outside of their current circles, they should quarantine and get tested, or preferably, remain off campus until January,” says Director of Operations Brad Krasaway. “We cannot increase the risk of exposure to COVID because it threatens our ability to serve students.”

The College is also recommending students take advantage of testing before the holiday weekend.

All testing is free and available to any student who wants to be tested whether they have symptoms or not, and it will not require insurance.
