A national group of experts are identifying those who should receive the pending COVID-19 vaccine first.
The National Advisory Committee on Immunization is recommending those most at risk of severe illness, those most at risk of transmitting COVID-19 and essential workers be at the top of the list.
A vaccine is still months away, though Pfizer’s candidate is said to be 90 per-cent effective and Moderna’s is reported at 94.5 per-cent effective.
But the committee expects it will be in short supply, requiring decisions now on who should receive it
