Saskatchewan And Toronto Area Residents Cast Ballots

Another majority government for the Saskatchewan Party.

The party, led by Scott Moe, won 50 of 61 seats in a provincial election in Saskatchewan yesterday.

It’s the fourth straight majority government for the party dating back to 2007, but the first for Moe, who took over the leadership from Brad Wall two years ago.

The NDP claimed the other 11 seats, but their leader Ryan Meili lost his.

The federal Liberals held onto two ridings after by-elections in the Toronto area.

Television personality Marci Ien beat out Green Party leader Annamie Paul for the seat in Toronto Centre.

Ya’ara Saks won for the Liberals in York Centre.

Peoples Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier was also a candidate in that riding but picked up just 4 per cent of the vote.
