Fort Frances Muskies senior girls volleyball team is headed to the provincial championship.
They swept by Thunder Bay’s Westgate Tigers for the NWOSSA title on the weekend, earning the berth to the OFSAA’s AA championship in Kingsville next week.
Two Atikokan High School teams are also heading to OFSAA championships.
The Voyageurs senior boys basketball team swept by Marathon for the right to play in the all-Ontario A division championship in North Bay next week.
The Voyageurs senior girls volleyball were also victorious against Marathon for the NWOSSA crown. They will now compete for the provincial A title in Walkerton next week as well.

They were swept in their NWOSSA championship in two straight games by Thunder Bay’s St. Ignatius Falcons.
No championships either for the Rainy River Voyageurs basketball teams.
The men lost to top-ranked St. Cloud in a semi-final game Friday at the Region 13B championships tournament.
The women were ousted in their championship event by Hibbing on Saturday, 78-61.
International Falls Broncos boys basketball ended their regular season Saturday with a 69-58 win over Roseau.
They start playoffs on Thursday.
Fort Frances Muskies boys hockey team has advanced to the NorWOSSA final after blanking Red Lake 5-0 Saturday to swept that series in two games.
They’ll now face Kenora’s St. Thomas Aquinas Saints starting Wednesday at the Ice For Kids Arena.
Fort Frances Lakers dropped a pair of games on the weekend, losing 10-1 to Wisconsin on Saturday and 3-0 at home to Thief River Falls on Friday.
They are in Red Lake tonight for a make-up game.
Rainy River Voyageurs women’s hockey team ended their season with a 10-1 loss to Lakehead University on Sunday.
