Catholic Teacher Talks Break Down

Contract talks between the union representing Catholic teachers and the Ontario government have broken down again.

The two sides resumed talks yesterday with the Ontario Catholic School Teachers Association suspending planned strike action.

But president Liz Stuart says the province’s bargaining team held firm to its agenda to take resources out of the classroom.

Stuart says they are now waiting on the mediator to decide if further negotiations would be worthwhile.
