Emo Provides More Information About Derailment

The provincial Highway 602 crossing through Emo will remain closed into next week as cleanup continues.

Residents will be seeing increased traffic throughout the community as oil is being removed from tankers and transported offsite.

Hydro One is on-site assessing and repairing the damage.

Residents residing east of the Highway 602 crossing and south of Highway 11 (from Emo to Devlin) are asked to continue to reduce power usage into this evening – hydro is expected to be fully functional tomorrow.

The Township of Emo’s Emergency Control Group has been made aware of Bell telephone and internet outages in the area. Anyone with friends, family, or acquaintances without access to 911 are asked to notify the municipal office so arrangements can be made until service is restored.
