OPP Make Arrest In Fraud Case

It took eight months to do it, but Provincial Police have laid charges in a fraud case in Atikokan.

Back in June, the victim indicated they had won a large sum of money in a lottery, but they needed to pay the taxes first.

After the money exchanged hands, the victim asked for their money but realized it was a scam.

The OPP was contacted, and with the help of the Aurora Detachment, a 58-year-old man was charged.

Shafqat Khan of Richmond Hill faces charges of trafficking in stolen goods under 5 thousand dollars and possession of property obtained by crime.
