Atikokan is playing host today and tomorrow in the NorWOSSA “A” championships.
Action begins today with the semi-finals with Atikokan playing host to Rainy River in senior girls volleyball.
Next at 2:00 is the junior girl with Pelican Falls taking on the Atikokan Voyageurs.
At 3:30 the senior boy’s basketball semi has Red Lake taking on St. Thomas Aquinas from Kenora and the day ends at 5:00 with Rainy River versus Red Lake in the junior boy’s hoops semi.
The finals will be played tomorrow.
Atikokan is hosting because the Voyageurs senior boys basketball team finished first in NorWOSSA league play.
Meanwhile, next Monday, Fort Frances will host the NorWOSSA “AA” championships.
Those games were supposed to be played on Friday but were delayed until next week because of a province-wide one-day walkout by Ontario teachers.
