Changes To NOHFC Coming

Some changes are coming to the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.

Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford is the chair of the Corporation and says his intent is to allow smaller communities in northwestern Ontario greater access to the program.

“(The) NOHFC has unfortunately been far easier for large cities to access on a number of fronts,” says Rickford, “whether it’s business, economic development or the resources for smaller communities to invest and upgrade recreational facilities.”

The Minister of Northern Development says the changes could come as early as this spring.
