Devlin’s Mike Badiuk has skipped his Geraldton rink to their first win at the Northern Ontario provincial men’s curling championship in New Liskeard, defeating Jordan Chandler of Little Current last night 7-5.
Badiuk’s rink had earlier lost to the Soo’s Sandy McEwan. They are now 1-3 after two days of play.
McEwan and defending champ Brad Jacobs, also of Sault Ste. Marie, lead the standings with perfect 4-0 records.
On the women’s side, Krysta Burns of Sudbury tops the field at 3-0 while Thunder Bay’s Krista McCarville won both her games yesterday to sit at 2-0.
The Fort Frances Curling Club has lost out in a bid to host the 2021 Northern Ontario Men’s and Scotties Provincial Championships.
They have been awarded to Kenora.

Emma Erickson scored both goals for the Broncos.
On the hardwood, the Broncos girls basketball fell 46-42 to Greenway.
