Three rinks share the lead at the Northern Ontario men’s curling championship being played out at New Liskeard.

Rinks skipped by Jordan Chandler of Little Current, with Stratton’s Trevor Bonot playing third, the Soo’s Brad Jacobs and Sudbury’s Sandy McEwan all sport 2 and oh records after the first day of play.

Chandler’s rink beat Charlie Robert of Sault Ste. Marie 5-4 and then Nicholas Lemieux, also of the Soo, 8-7 in an evening draw.

Devlin’s Mike Badiuk and his Geraldton-based team lost both their games yesterday.

They opened with a 6-5 loss to Jeffrey Brown of North Bay before conceding to Jacobs after seven ends in their game last night.

 

Fort Frances Lakers gave up a 3-1 lead and four third period goals to fall 5-4 to the Thunder Bay North Stars in Thunder Bay.

Flynn Perry, Kyle Uzelman, MacKenzie Flett and Reece Hopfner with the Lakers goals.

Combined with Wisconsin’s 5-2 win over Thief River Falls, Fort Frances now sits 3 points back of the Lumberjacks with four games in hand.
