MNRF Sends More Fire Crews Down Under

More help for fire-ravaged Australia from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

Ontario is sending seven additional fire management personnel to provide support and expertise.

Two more staff will be deployed Friday, bringing the total number over several deployments to 28 since the start of that country’s devastating fire season.

It’s not known at this time if any of the new crew members headed overseas are from northwestern Ontario.

The province says if further assistance is requested, they will assess the ability to send additional help.
