The province says there is “no active nuclear threat” at a southern Ontario nuclear generating station.
An Ontario-wide alert sent around 6:25 said there was an “incident” at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station. It claimed emergency staff were responding to the unspecified event but that there was no “abnormal release of radioactivity.”
A second alert around 8:10 said the initial message was sent by mistake.
Important update: the alert regarding #Pickering Nuclear was sent in error. There is no danger to the public or environment.
