The Sunset Country Squash Club kicked off a new year with its running of the annual La Place-Rendezvous tournament at the Memorial Sports Centre.
Sean Cameron of Thunder Bay was the Men’s A open winner.
Anika Alexander of Winnipeg was the Men’s A division winner.
Among local winners were Mark Faragher in the B-side Open; Dave Schwartz in the men’s B-side, and Adrian Richards in the D-side.
Nikki Bagacki was the Ladies B-side winner while Charmaine Langlais captured the D-side.
Evan Strain took the junior A-side crown.
Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team ended a series of exhibition games in Thunder Bay Sunday with a 3-2 loss to the Thunder Bay Fury midget team.
Ellayna Kabel and Issy Taylor scored for the Muskies goals.

On the court, the Broncos boys basketball team beat Mesabi East Friday in overtime, 82-75.
