The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario is getting ready for new applications to open cannabis stores.
A limit on store openings was lifted by the provincial government late last year.
The Commission’s expecting applications to start flowing in on Monday.
It could still be several months before any of them are approved.
Currently, there are only about 25 retailers who have been given the okay to open.
A survey from the group Responsible Cannabis Use finds 50 per cent of residents want to see more retailers open in their communities.
