Two Charged With Impaired Over Christmas

The crackdown on drunk drivers in the Rainy River district continues.

OPP nabbed two more people during Christmas Eve and Christmas.

A 27-year-old man from Couchiching First Nation was charged on Christmas Eve after OPP stopped a vehicle at around 7:30 p.m. that night.

Then on Christmas, at 2:30 a.m., police charged a 35-year-old from Winnipeg as part of an impaired driving investigation in the town of Rainy River.

Both men will make court appearances in January.

OPP’s added enforcement on impaired driving will continue until the end of next week.
