Local Sports For Friday, December 13

A team of Jacksons is vying for a spot to the Northern Ontario Senior Men’s Curling Championship.

Lorne Jackson is skipping a Fort Frances rink at a west qualifying event in Terrace Bay this weekend.

He’s joined by teammates Dale Jackson as Vice, Derek Jackson as Second and Jim Jackson at Lead.

They play their first game this afternoon against Scott Henderson from Thunder Bay.

 

At Falls High School, the Broncos boys hockey team doubled up Proctor 4-2.

Brenden Benike, Bradyn Dremmel, Justin Besch and Kian Gonzales provided the scoring.

On the courts, the boys basketball team defeated Eveleth-Gilbert 69-66.

Riley Larson led the way with 17 points while Jace Hallin and Culline Rein each chipped in 16.

The girls team fell to Virginia 52-30.

Chloe Sullivan paced the team with 14 points

The boys swim and dive team scored seven wins in the pool in defeating Chisholm in head-to-head action.
