Cargo Plane Accident In Far North

No one was injured after a North Star Air cargo plane was involved in “an accident near Sachigo Lake.”

The airline says it happened around 9:10 a.m. Tuesday.

The plane was a Douglas DC-3C-TP67.

Company officials say no passengers were on board and two flight crew members were not injured.

On , a North Star Air Ltd. Douglas DC-3C-TP67 departed Red Lake (CYRL), Ontario, on a flight to Sachigo Lake (CZPB), Ontario, with 2 flight crew members on board. While on approach to CZPB, the aircraft collided with terrain approximately 500 metres southwest of the threshold of Runway 10. There were no injuries. The aircraft sustained substantial damage. The TSB is investigating.

The Transportation Safety Board and Transport Canada are investigating.

Sachigo Lake is located 425 kilometres north of Sioux Lookout.
