A free concert at the Rainy Lake Square tonight.
The Honest Heart Collective is based out of Thunder Bay.
Lead singer Ryan MacDonald says he and his brother paired with a couple of friends to form the band several years ago.
MacDonald described the band as a blue-collar one, influenced by the likes of Bruce Springsteen.
“We put on a very energetic live show because we just love playing music and that’s sort of the party for us is being up on stage with everybody.”
MacDonald says he took the band’s name from a phrase that appeared while playing a popular video game.
They’ve since put out of a couple of albums which have received good audience reaction.
McDonald says they’re always striving to bring their music to the next level.
“I think that for one thing that….kind of keeps us driven is always being excited about what we can accomplish next.”
Honest Heart Collective is making its first-ever appearance to Fort Frances.
The show is one of two this summer being promoted by Tour De Fort.
It starts at 6 p.m.
