Power outage slated for Sunday

Almost 1,100 Hydro One customers living east of Fort Frances will be affected by a power outage on Sunday.

It is part of a planned outage to go from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The outage impacts residents living between Couchiching and Nigigoonsimimancaming First Nations.

The maintenance outage will also turn off the electricity in Fort Frances.

Some businesses will be on generators, allowing them to still open.

The Fort Frances Power Corporation is also working on a proposal that could see the town remain powered during future outages.

A report is expected early in 2025.
