New self-checkout service will soon be available at the Safeway Store in Fort Frances.
The equipment was installed last month.
In an email to Acadia News, Manasvi Thakur, a spokesperson for Sobeys, Safeway’s parent company, the store will be the only one in northwestern Ontario, outside of Thunder Bay, where self-checkouts will be available.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to enhancing customer experience by offering more convenient checkout options,” says Thakur.
Stores in Thunder Bay have offered a self-checkout option for several months.
