55 Plus Centre closed for the weekend

An act of vandalism has shut down the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre.

Several windows were broken sometime overnight.

Officials say the closure is necessary because 0f the extent of the damage.

Work crews are cleaning up the damage and will make the necessary repairs over the weekend.

They are hoping to have to Centre open on Monday.

“We are dismayed the Centre has been vandalized,” says Twyla Biluk, Supervisor of Older Adults for the City of Thunder Bay. “We apologize for any inconvenience this closure causes to our valued participants and look forward to safely reopening the facility next week.”

Thunder Bay Police are looking into the incident.
