Dangerous driving leads to charges against transport driver

A complaint of dangerous driving has led to charges against the driver of a tractor trailer unit near Atikokan.

Yesterday morning Ontario Provincial Police received a call regarding a transport driving erratically, which resulted in a traffic stop.

During the stop a roadside sobriety test was conducted which the driver failed.

Among the charges are an impaired driving charge, dangerous driving, driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor and failing to maintain a daily log.

The 37 year old was immediately given a 90 day driving suspension and the CMV he was driving was impounded for seven days.

He’s been released from custody and scheduled to appear in court on September 28th.
