4 charged in Atikokan drug bust

Four people are facing charges following a drug bust in Atikokan.

OPP say 70 grams of cocaine, crack cocaine, over 130 narcotic pills and about 15 grams of fentanyl were discovered during a Thursday morning search of a home on Mercury Avenue East.

Police estimate the street value of the drugs to be about $25 thousand.

Over $6,000 in cash and drug trafficking equipment were also seized.

Two people from Atikokan, a 35-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, and two people from North York, aged 23 and 33, were arrested on trafficking charges.

The two individuals from Atikokan were also charged with failing to comply with previous probation orders.

All four were held in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday.
