NWHU celebrating 75 years of public health

The Northwestern Health Unit turns 75 this year.

To celebrate, the Health Unit is holding open houses at each of their offices in the region.

CEO Marilyn Herbacz coming out of COVID, it’s a chance to familiarize the public with their services.

“We have 12 offices and we though it was a perfect opportunity for us to spread one office per month over the course of our 75th year,” said Herbacz at the open house in Kenora at their City View offices.

“It think it’s really important to re-introduce our services. We’ve just come out of a pandemic where we focussed primarily on COVID. Now’s a really good chance to focus on everything that we do as a health unit. Our scope is really wide. It’s really good opportunity for us to do that.”

The next open house will be held on July 27th in Sioux Narrows.
