NorWOSSA teams settle for second in weekend tournament

Winnipeg teams earned top honors from a weekend soccer tournament over the weekend in Kenora.

St. John Ravenscourt claimed first place in the boys division, by beating Beaver Brae 2-0.

St. Thomas Aquinas finished in fourth.

Fort Frances placed fifth, the Dryden Eagles in 8th and Sioux North in 9th.

In the girls division, it was the River East Kodiaks finishing first with a 1-0 win over Fort Frances.

The Saints finished in third, doubling up Beaver Brae 4-2.

The Dryden Eagles placed 5th and the Sioux North Warriors were in 8th.

The NorWOSSA regular season takes place on Tuesday, with the Dryden Eagles and the Fort Frances Muskies taking on the host Beaver Brae Broncos in “AA” action.

In the “A” division, St. Thomas Aquinas will host the Red Lake Rams and the Rainy River Owls on Wednesday and Thursday.
