Two southern Ontario men face fines for illegal moose hunt

Hefty fines for illegal moose hunting in northwestern Ontario.

Two hunters from southern Ontario are out of pocket over $8,000 for shooting a bull moose north of Upsala.

Court heard Dennis and Marko Bartolac were driving on Petry Road in October of 2021, when they came across a moose standing in the road.

They both discharged their high-powered rifles down the roadway.

It was also discovered that a third person did not follow the instructions accompanying the bull moose tag.

The Bartolac’s had their hunting licences suspended for four years and have to retake their hunter education course.
