Illegal Immigrants rescued near Warroad

Several illegal immigrants have been rescued from a flooded bog, west of Warroad, Minnesota.

The US Customs and Border Protection says the RCMP received a 911 call early Tuesday morning from a member of the group.

The weather conditions were below freezing at the time, and two people suffered from hypothermia.

There are currently being treated.

Seven of the nine are said to be citizens of Mexico and were trying to cross into the US.

The other two are still recovering and their nationalities have not been confirmed.

The US Customs and Border Protection says the outcome could have been much worse if not for the quick notification from RCMP and the response of their agents.
