Miners are out, North Stars advance

The Thunder Bay North Stars are the first team in the SIJHL to advance to the second round of the playoffs.

The North Stars took down the the defending SIJHL champs the Red Lake Miners last night 6-0 to win that series 4-1.

Thunder Bay had goals from six different players in the win.

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs will try to become the second team to advance to the second round as they host the Fort Frances Lakers tonight.

The Ice Dogs lead that series 3-1.

Also tonight, the Sioux Lookout Bombers are back home to play the Wisconsin Lumberjacks.

That series is tied at 2-2.
