Ice Dogs and Miners Win

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are a win away from advancing to the next round of the SIJHL playoffs.

The Ice Dogs took down the Fort Frances Lakers 6-2 last night to take a 3-0 lead in their first round series.

Brady Frattinger had a hat trick for Dryden while Jordan Pfoh also added a pair of goals in the win.

Dryden can wrap up the series tonight with a win in Fort Frances.

In the meantime, the Red Lake Miners managed to claw their way back into its series with the Thunder Bay North Stars with a 5-4 overtime win last night.

Jacob Lamoureux scored the game winner at 2:49 of OT.

The North Stars lead the series 2-1 with game four tonight in Red Lake.

The other series resumes tonight with the Sioux Lookout Bombers in Spooner, Wisconsin to play the Lumberjacks.

The Bombers have a 2-0 lead.
