Local sports for Sunday, March 26th

The best-of-three series between the Kenora U18 Thistles and the Thunder Bay Kings will be decided this afternoon.

That after the Kings tied the series 1-1, after a 4-0 shutout last night.

The third and deciding game will be played this afternoon at 1:30 at the Moncrief Construction Sports Center (Kenora Rec. Center).

 

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs have a 2-0 series lead on the Fort Frances Lakers in their best-of-seven first round playoff series.

The Ice Dogs dumped the Lakers 9-3 last night.

Game three will take place in Fort Frances Monday night.

The Sioux Lookout Bombers also took a 2-0 lead in their series with the Wisconsin Lumberjacks thanks to an 8-2 victory Saturday night.

That series resumes Tuesday in Spooner, Wisconsin.

 

Jeff Gustafson has a commanding lead after two days at the Bassmaster Classic on the Tennessee River in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Gussy has a two day total of 35 pounds 11 ounces for ten fish.

His nearest competitor is almost six pounds back.

Final day weigh-ins will take place this afternoon.
