McDonald’s helping Ronald McDonald Houses in Minnesota

A fundraising campaign for Ronald McDonald Houses begins next week in Minnesota.

McDonald’s Restaurants across the state, including the one in International Falls, are donating 25 cents for every Shamrock Shake or Oreo Shamrock McFlurry sold from March 6 until March 16.

The campaign has raised nearly $775,000 since it was started ten years ago.

“We’re always proud to support our Ronald McDonald Houses, where families stay together during the most difficult time of their lives,” said owner/operator and McDonald’s Minnesota Co-Op president Melissa Kennedy. “We’re truly grateful for our customers’ support of this wonderful cause.”

Six Ronald McDonald Homes are located in Duluth, Minneapolis, St. Paul and Rochester.

They offer a home-away-from-home for families needing to travel for medical care for their children.

In Canada, McDonald’s Restaurants hold McHappy Day to raise money from homes in the country.

It will take place on May 10 this year.
