2 forest fires to start fire season in northwestern Ontario

It’s been a slow start to the forest fire season in northwestern Ontario.

There have only been two so far, both in the Rainy River District.

The most recent took place on Wednesday near Highway 11, about 11 kilometers northeast of Fort Frances.

The fire was only about 0.1 hectares in size and has been declared out.
