Charges Laid After Collision On Highway 11

The Rainy River OPP have charged a driver following a collision that resulted in the closure of Highway 11 early this morning.

Police say a pick up truck ran into a freight train on the Kings Highway in Alberton Township around 4:18 this morning.

Officers attended the scene along with emergency service personnel.

While the pick up truck was badly damaged, there were no injuries.

As a result 34 Demin Gulbrandsen of Rainy River has been charged with impaired driving, as well as several Highway Traffic Act infractions.

He drivers license has been suspended for 90 days and his truck was impounded for seven days.
