Gutsy Walk has become Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s largest annual fundraising event.
With over 50 locations across the country, Gutsy Walk brings together thousands of Canadians, allowing everyone the opportunity to get involved, no matter where they live.
Each year, Gutsy Walk raises millions of dollars for funding life-changing research, programs, and advocacy efforts that help improve the lives of those affected by Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. This funding is crucial in supporting advancements in treatment options, and ultimately, in the search for cures.
For many participants, Gutsy Walk is not just a fundraising event—it’s a chance to connect with others who are living with Crohn’s and colitis and share stories of resilience and hope.
For others, it’s a source of inspiration, seeing the community come together to support those affected by IBD.
A local resident named Shelly Nastor is participating in Gutsy Walk this year. Her daughter Jaymee lives with ulcerative colitis.

Shelly and her family have been trying to make Gutsy Walk a presence in Fort Frances.
They are not asking people to raise money themselves, but to possibly donate and/or come out and walk with her and my family.
They will be walking on Sunday, June 1st starting on the river by the hospital at 10am. They will walk to Seven Oaks, but people are welcome to join for as long as they can.
Visit the Gutsy Walk website for further information.
