July 4th Activities Continue in International Falls

July 4th celebrations continue in International Falls.

With the U.S. holiday falling on a Monday, the city was able to extend activities into the weekend.

Mayor Harley Droba was expecting a good turnout.

“The flooding that’s going on, and there’s not a lot of people that plan on utilizing this lake this year. We do think we’re going to have a lot of people in town. We also think we have a lot of people that are coming up to International Falls this year for the 4th of July,” says Droba.

Droba says the organizing committee made a few changes for this year.

Everything that has been done in the past is back, only done slightly differently.

One of them impacts the kid’s parade.

” Historically, the kid’s parade has started at 12:30 and then the main parade has been out at 1. The kid’s parade will be included in the main parade this year,” says Droba.

The parade begins at 1 pm, travelling along Third Street from Twelve Avenue to Third Avenue.

Fireworks are still planned to be set off at 10:15 p.m. from the Falls High School track.
