More money for charity groups in Fort Frances to access.
The town is receiving $97 thousand from the Winnipeg Foundation and the Moffat Family Fund.
The town, in turn, will hand that over to groups for projects that fall within the mandate to “support and advance the economic, social, physical and intellectual well-being of children and families.”
Councillor Mike Behan calls it tremendous news.
“If I’m not mistaken, I believe this is the largest amount yet granted to the town of Fort Frances from this fund. I’m sure I can speak for all of Council in thanking the Moffat Family fund and the Winnipeg Foundation for their continued generosity year in and year out,” says Behan.
The town will begin accepting applications from February 7 until March 11.
Those submissions will be reviewed by a local committee that will submit its recommendations in April to the Winnipeg Foundation for final approval.
