Family Lot-Hockey Tournament Planned

A good old-fashioned street hockey game is coming to a car lot near you.

Beyak Automotive is promoting a four-on-four family tournament on November 6 on the lot of Fort Frances GM lot.

Public Relations Manager Danielle Hammond says with the lot empty due to the pandemic, a street hockey event was the best way to make use of it.

“We just decided that we wanted to put on a fun community event for the Rainy River District that for everyone. Almost everyone loves hockey so we thought that we could do our friends and family and friends event and put on a community lot-hockey tournament,” says Hammond.

Sign up is through Fort Frances GM and Sunset Country Ford’s Facebook pages.

You must register by November 3.

Hammond says individuals without a team are also encouraged to sign up, and they will work to find you a team to play on.

“Anyone that might not have a hockey stick but still want to participate, we will be able to provide some of those as well. Just shoot me an email, and we’ll be happy to make sure that everyone can be involved.”
