Smoke Drifting Toward Atikokan

A warning of poor air quality in the Atikokan area.

It’s caused by the cluster of forest fires burning at the southern end of Quetico Park.

Smoke is expected to continue to drift northward at least until Saturday.

Environment Canada says if you or those in your care are exposed to wildfire smoke, consider taking extra precautions.

Wildfire smoke is a mixture of particles and gases that includes many chemicals that can be harmful to your health.

Children, seniors, and those with cardiovascular or lung disease, such as asthma, are especially at risk.
